The University of Manchester is connected to the global open research movement and is an institutional member of the UK Reproducibility Network. You can join our local Open Research Network to receive updates and get involved with open research developments at the University.

Open Research Network

 The University’s Open Research Network is a part of an active community of researchers engaged in promoting open and reproducible research practices.

Our Open Research Network forms part of a regional hub, and works closely with the equivalent groups at Lancaster University, Keele University, and Manchester Metropolitan University.

UK Reproducibility Network

The (UKRN) was established to improve research quality in the UK.

The network is supported by UKRI, Research England, The Wellcome Trust, Universities UK, and Jisc.

The University of Manchester is represented in the UKRN by Andrew Stewart (Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health).

Open Research Action group

The University’s Open Research Action Group (ORAG) drafts policies and recommendations for the Open Research Strategy Group to (a) guide our University's approach to openness and transparency in research, and (b) to ensure that the infrastructure is in place to support colleagues in conducting research in as open and transparent a manner as possible.
