Open Access

The University supports all open and equitable models of scholarly publishing as part of our broader open research commitment.

Open Access Gateway

The Library's Open Access (OA) Gateway helps researchers meet all funder OA requirements.

Eligible authors can also apply for OA funding.

When you have a paper accepted for publication, submit your Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM) to the Library for deposit to Pure.

The Library will then verify the manuscript version, checking applicable journal and funder policies and setting embargo periods on publication.

Read and publish deals

A growing number of subscription publishers are developing 'read and publish' deals which create pathways to transition to fully Open Access models.

These allow research to be published Open Access without any additional cost to the author.

Open Access guidance

The Library's Open Access Team are available to provide help and guidance on a range of topics including open access monographs, pre-prints, and other non-traditional forms of open publishing.

Contact the Office for Open Research Team for more information.
